As an actor, I have performed as a part of multiple theatre productions across India in the past 5 years. Type of productions I have done range from devised to monologues ( did a production of the vagina monologues) scripted to musicals.
I have performed in English and Tamil so far. I am fluent in Hindi and Marathi as well.

I am a freelance producer working across a range of disciplines in the performing arts. I am developing a project for 2012 - encouraging artists, schools and colleges and interested parties in different places to respond to a story about a young woman and adapt it to suit local concerns. I am interested in a greener, fairer, more balanced world and believe creativity can lead us there.

Prav MJ founded Liminal Space Productions in 2010 after working in the USA to develop and stage contemporary writing that challenges and inspires audiences. Liminal Space launched with American Bytes (10 minute USA shorts) as part of the Fresh Ideas Season at New Wimbledon Studio. That developed into American Bytes Back for the London Fringe Festival.

I'm a musician/researcher, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, composer and writer. My work is cross-cultural - building on my training in western classical music (piano and saxophone), I studied Arabic/Turkish oud for some years, and more recently, jazz on voice and saxophone. I have worked in academia (musicoology and ethnomusicology) for 15 years. Currently I am based in Sicily and London.

We have created over 15 original productions since 1998. In 2001 I completed my PhD research into Shamanic dimensions within contemporary theatre practice. For many years, I ran regular workshops exploring the connections between the actor and the shaman internationally and often with my long-term collaborator, Professor Brian Bates.

My work can be described as intercultural hybrid performance art, integrating my knowledge of Indian Classical Dance and my visual arts practice. My inquiry into the female body as symbol, using sacred Hindu iconography as protest against misogynist atrocities are illustrated in my performance installations: The Female Pope (Sydney, New York, Sweden), The Widow, The Two Madonnas (Mexico 2014, Kolkata 2019), Kali Madonna, The Black Madonna and Urban Kali.
