Jana Korb

I studied Cultural and Gender Studies, and Fine Arts in Berlin and Moscow, and was trained as an aerialist and performer by Mike Wright, Orit Nevo, Mimbre, Gabriel Chame, Elias Cohen and Minako Seki. In my research I join various performance styles to forge my own genre between contemporary circus and physical theater: narrative circus. My personal style is largely influenced by Czech experimental theater and its strong tradition of object theater, as well as by Moscow Conceptualism. My themes I derive from my subjective view of the world and my feminist background. I have been performing as an aerial artist in solo and ensemble productions since 2001, also teaching aerial arts and creation. Born Czech in Munich, I presently live in Berlin.
