Jadranka Andelic is a theatre director from Serbia who lives and work in Brazil from 2008. Theatre director of SEQUÊNCIA Cênicas that gathers a group of theatre artsist (actors, musicians,video maker, costime desinger,graphic desinher) from Rio de Janeiro. 2017 founded together with Eveline costa, the ESPAÇO SEQUENCIA, cultural space in Rio de Janeiro.
Founder, together with Dijana Milosevic of DAH Theatre in Belgrade 1991, the first theatre laboratory in ex-Yugoslavia. In 1993 the company enlarged in DAH Theatre Research Centre with an ongoing program of performances, workshops, lectures, seminars and festivals. Graduated on the Academy of Drama Arts at University in Belgrade (Theatre Directing) and later continued her professional development in contemporary performing arts in seminars of Odin Theatre 1990-1994 led by Torgeir Wethal. Sho took part in international School of Theatre Anthropology 1996 and 1998.
Besides directing various performances in DAH Theatre Research Centre, Jadranka has been the artistic or managing director of festivals/meetings like Arts Saves Life Festival (1993 and 1994), International Theatre Workshop Meeting (1996) and Endurance and Transformation (2001), Theatre as Way of Healing (2003), Forum of Independent Theatres (2003), Balkan Express Meeting (2005). Between 1997 -2002 she collaborated with international theatre company Teatret OM (Denmark) and created international production Landscape of Memories 2000. After 2003 she created performances under Jadranka Andjelic Project – Seekers, The Shifting Mirror, In/Visible City) gives workshops and lectures and direct activities in Dah Theatre Research Centre.
2006 she was invited to present her work on ECUM -International Meeting of Theatre Artists in Brasil. In 2008 she moved to Brasil. She joint Sequência filmes, músicas e cênicas in Rio de Janeir, leads a workshops (Rio de Janeiro, Uberlandia, Barra Mansa, Fortaleza) and direct a performances: Cidade In/Visível 2010, Catadores de Sonhos – Utopia com atores e alpinistas, 2011, Memorias do Pequeno Circo, 2014. Director and Curator (with Paola Velluci and Eveline Costa) of MULTICIDADE / The Iternational Festival of Women in Perfroming Arts 2015 and 2018 in Rio de Janeiro.
Artistic director of MAPA Serbia (Mobile Performing Arts Academy) 2007-2008. Artistic director of International theatre festival INFANT , Novi Sad, 2009 and 2010.
Active in various networks (The Magdalena Project, Balkan Express, European OFF theatre network). She was one of the founders and Head of the Board of Association of Independent Theatres (ANET)1999-2005. In 1997 Eugenio Barba, shared the “Luigi Pirandello Award” with Jadranka Andjelic, Dijana Milosevic and DAH Theatre, among few other companies in the world.
She is recepient of Otto Rene Castillo Award for political theatre in 2007, New York, USA and The ERSTE foundation Award for the perfromace In/Visible City 2009. She toured extensively in Europe and Brazil, Greenland, Morocco, Mongolia, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, USA.
