Dear friends, partners and supporters of City of Women,
We would like to draw your attention to the 19th International Festival of Contemporary Arts – City of Women which will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia during October 2-13.
One of the peaks of this year's festival edition will be the visit of The Pocha Nostra, a prominent and well-known group of daring artists who will perform with their newest performance CORPO INSURRECTO 3.0: The Robo-Proletariat as well as organize a workshop for local artists.
Due to a current arts funding crisis, they have just launched a very bold Indiegogo campaign to be able to raise the funds for the upcoming Pocha Nostra October tour (besides the City of Women festival, they will also perform at Queer Festival in Zagreb, Croatia). We kindly invite you to check it out (especially the video) and if you can contribute or forward the link to your community of colleagues.
La Pocha Nostra Performance Workshop
You are cordially invited to participate at cross-cultural/cross-disciplinary/cross-generational performance workshop led by radical and critical performance group La Pocha Nostra (Guillermo Gómez-Peña, Dani d'Emilia, Erica Mott) at City of Women festival (Ljubljana, Slovenia, October 2-13, 2013).
The workshop will take place on Sunday, October 6th (Kreatorij DIC), Monday, October 7th and Tuesday, October 8th at Old Factory Station – Elektro Ljubljana.
We especially invite performing artists, dancers, students, musicians, poets, designers, visual artists and others who are interested in human body and its potentials. Please find more information in the attachment.
You are kindly asked to send us not later than by October 1st 2011 a statement of purpose, a brief biography, contact info (email and telephone number) and a sample of your work to contact@cityofwomen.org.
Participation is limited in number and free of charge. An application is mandatory. Due to a limited participation we reserve the right to selection of the workshop participants.
