Actors required for "Slow" ensemble

Looking for 2 female performers’ (25-35ish yrs) to be a part of a second stage creative development on a new cross disciplinary theatre work involving movement, multimedia, interactive sound, visual installation art and text.

This project received a Fresh Grounds Grant Residency at Judith Wright Centre for our first stage development and the second stage development will also take place there. The piece will go through another 1 or 2 creative development stages in 2012 followed by a season and possible tour.

This creative development is funding pending and you will bepaid equity award wages for the times you are required- spread out over a 4week period in October 2011.

The dates and times for the creative development are still being organised but at this stage the creative development dates are (Mon-Fri, 9- 5pm) Oct 3- 12, Oct 17, 18 and Oct 24- Nov 3.

There may be changes to this or further dates added. You will also be required for training and research sessions throughout September, on Tuesday/Wednesday evenings, and possibly half a weekend day. This training/research work in September will be unpaid.

The performers who apply will be interested in cross disciplinary practice and devising new work from physical based processes. They will have considerable training, either a 3 year practical based actor training course and industry experience, or other training alongside professional experience.

I am looking for performers that are Brisbane based, not already attached to a company, and who are looking to dedicate themselves to the project/group for a while. In 2012, we will be undertaking further creative development stages/season; ongoing training; and creating more new work in the future.

This project would suit someone who is only looking to practice/create on a part time basis, enjoys learning more about their craft, and not in a rush for end results.

Auditions are by invitation and will take place over the next couple of weeks.

To apply please email your CV and letter of interest to

Kind Regards
