A practicing artist and recent graduate of The Victorian College of the Arts in Animateuring (2011), Sally Lewry creates bold, original performance work with integrity and strong intention, with an investigative and intuitive process at it’s core. Sally’s work explores the profound and poetic in the everyday, combining highly skilled practice with a deep sense of socio-political content, to create raw, evocative and intimate experiences for audience.
Sally completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Western Sydney, Theatre Nepean, receiving a Bachelor of Performance: Theatre-making (2004). Sally worked with a variety of companies including Urban Theatre Projects and Pact Theatre where she developed the solo work ‘Back of Burke’ which toured to The Big West Festival, Melbourne and the Adelaide Fringe (2010). In developing her practice, Sally is looking to build an articulate body of work through shared dialogue and connection with a network of artists which will support and facilitate a rigorous, reflective and pertinent practice.
