Our spring is full of news and projects!
While we continue research for the new production that will premiere in February 2026, in the past few weeks we have begun work on the French line project that we have been invited to create as part of Nova Gorica – Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025. Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing for the filming of the audiovisual version of The game(link is external), which will be realised soon at LAC Lugano. The performance will then return to travel to Switzerland and Liechtenstein (also in a new English version).

Trickster-p won the grant «De la scène à l’écran» created to encourage and support the production and distribution of original audiovisual works that integrate and re-edit footage from live performances. Over the past weeks we have been working closely with director Pablo Briones who will realise the audiovisual transposition of The game(link is external). Filming will take place at LAC theatre in Lugano on April 28, 29 and 30, focusing on the experience of the participants, in that subtle balance between play, reflection, action, ethics and strategy.
«De la scène à l’écran» is promoted by the association of the same name founded by SRG SSR/RTS, SSA, SUISSIMAGE and AROPA. Now in its fifth edition in French-speaking Switzerland, in 2024 the grant was also open for the second time to Italian-language works.
In May, The game(link is external) will resume its national and international journey, starting in Bern, where we will be hosted by auawirleben festival in collaboration with Schlachthaus Theater. In an increasingly troubling global political framework, the 2025 edition of the festival wants to bring original and headstrong artistic paths to its audience. The dates in Bern will also be the opportunity to present the English version of The game(link is external) (May 15th) and a new version featuring simultaneous translation in sign language (May 16th).
After that, we will be happy to return to meet the audience of TAK Theater Liechtenstein in Schaan and close the tour by returning to Ticino for Territori Festival in Bellinzona.
Through The game(link is external) we would like to continue to create a privileged space in which spectators can «play» the dynamics of complexity and, at the same time, build collective tools of possible changes. How much can we participate in the game of the system we are immersed in, or how much are we being played instead? To what extent do we have room for intervention and change through our choices? […] A plastic representation of the dynamics that dominate both our society and our way of thinking, that in fiction – and not only – we can change. Last but not least, we will punctuate these intense months with creative work, proceeding in parallel with the research on Common land, our new 2025-2026 production, and the making of French line, the performative intervention we are creating in collaboration with Quarantasettezeroquattro(link is external) in the context of Nova Gorica – Gorizia European Capital of Culture. The latter will be presented in Gradisca d'Isonzo as part of Invisible Cities festival in early September.
Starting from a historical event that has strongly influenced the region of Gorizia – the border adopted in 1947 by the victors of World War II to divide Italy and Yugoslavia – French line will develop as a performative intervention for domestic spaces which will focus on reflecting on the relationship between personal biography and collective historical events.
