The theatre director EUGENIO BARBA and the actress JULIA VARLEY come back to Brasilia to minister the eighth edition of THE SECRET ART OF THE PERFORMER - BRASIL and the exclusive artistic residency with Eugenio Barba, in immersion regime, HOW TO THINK THROUGH ACTIONS VIII, to actors, directors, academics and playwrights, based upon the principles of the Theatre Anthropology and on the training, creation and staging traditions of the danish group ODIN TEATRET. 

Idealized by director of Cia. YinsPiração Poéticas Contemporâneas, Luciana Martuchelli, and by the director of the Odin Teatret, Eugenio Barba. The annual event is unique in the world and it's produced by TAO Filmes in the Brazilian capital since 2008.

"THE SECRET ART OF THE PERFORMER in Brasilia has turned itself into one of my fronts in my fight against theatre's momentary nature. Every year, at the same moment, a prodigy happens: a parenthesis of a few days, in a particular life and work conditions isolated in a ranch, in an immense panorama outside Brasilia. There, like a guesthouse for caravans, Julia Varley and I meet together with 20 Brazilian and Latin American co-workers and share a rare adventure: skip the schedules, habits and bonds of our daily lives. It's like we wanted to find the origins again. We ask ourselves what are, in the practice, the inner and technical paths to fine tune and accomplish our necessity for making theatre. We confront the singles questions and answers, guiding ourselves upon the principles of the Theatre Anthropology and our professional experiences." (Eugenio Barba - Odin Teatret)

December 2th (wednesday) - Participants accreditation and opening of the VIII Edition of THE SECRET ART OF THE PERFORMER.

December 3th to 6th (thursday to sunday) - Artistic residency of companionship and staging with Eugenio Barba and Julia Varley, in immersion regime, exclusive for actors and directors previously selected.

December 7th (monday) - check-out at 9 a.m. from the ranch Solar Guadalupe and return to Brasília.
