Kelly DuMar

I'm a playwright and workshop facilitator who is drawn to collaborative environments where artistic expression and personal transformation thrive. My plays are inspired by my faith in storytelling as a healing art, my psychodramatic imagination, my practice of Playback Theatre, and my passion for diary/journal writing. To establish an environment to nourish women's playwrighting, I founded and co-produce the Our Voices Festival of Boston area women's plays, now in its 6th year. I'm author of a non-fiction book, Before You Forget – The Wisdom of Writing Diaries for Your Children, & my plays are published by Smith & Kraus, Heuer, Brooklyn & Youth Plays. I've been the recipient of Mass. Cultural Council grants to provide memoir writing & Playback Theatre programs for senior citizens & youth. I'm a member of the Dramatists Guild, a Certified Psychodramatist, a Fellow in the American Society for Group Psychotherapy & Psychodrama, and a member of Playback North America.
