Galitta Tassa
Primary tabs
Galitta Tassa is an unusual singer/songwriter. She was born in Jerusalem and raised with Yemenite Hebrew traditions in a village surrounded by pomegranate trees and a bunch of cats that all had the same name.
At the age of ten, she wrote, produced and performed in her first play. Since then she's studied theatrical arts, and performed as a singer and dancer in the entertainment world.
At 21 Galitta moved to Amsterdam and soon produced and performed in her own theatrical swing-jazz shows. Later she discovered again the sacred music of her ancestors and the power it has to inspire peace and unity.
She started to work with sound healing and dimension traveling, empowering others to discover their voices. In the meantime
Galitta built a home, family, a production company, artistic career, Fertile Ground Studio and Happy Goddessa.
Now Galitta explores the rhythms and chants from her tribal heritage and combines them with her jazz and entertainment background to create her very own music and performing style.
She investigates the union point between masculine and feminine, east and west, astral and physical body, religion and spirituality, sound and silence, urban and tribal.
As a vocalist Galitta likes to create songs on the moment. In her music project “The Thirteen”, for example, she recorded a whole CD based on the philosophy that every moment, every intention, contains its own songs. The role of the vocalist is to give it a form in sound that inspires and entertains.
