Magdalena

A film produced by Jill Greenhalgh and Sara Penrhyn Jones.

Depicting the Magdalena Project in one film seems impossible, considering its historic and geographical spread, and its multilingual and evolving nature. Magdalena is a thirty minute documentary, created as a collaboration between Magdalena Founding Artistic Director, Jill Greenhalgh, and filmmaker Sara Penrhyn Jones. Using footage gathered by Sara from two Magdalena festivals in 2011 (Wales and Cuba), a story is woven, which historicises the project, and conveys something of the spirit which has kept the network relevant in a changing environment.

Una película producida por Jill Greenhalgh y Sara Penrhyn Jones.

Plasmar el proyecto Magdalena en una película parece imposible, considerando su extensión geográfica e histórica, además de su naturaleza evolutiva y multilingual. Magdalena es un documental de treinta minutos creado en colaboración entre la Directora Artística Fundadora, Jill Greenhalgh, y la cineasta Sara Penrhyn Jones. Usando material levantado por Sara de los dos festivales Magdalena del 2011 (Gales y cuba) se  entreteje una historia, que relata la historia del proyecto, y transmite un poco del espíritu que ha logrado mantener la relevancia de esta red en un ambiente cambiante. 

 

Representar o Projeto Magdalena em um filme parece impossível, considerando-se a sua extensão histórica e geográfica, e sua natureza multilingue e dinâmica. Magdalena é um documentário de 30 minutos, criado em colaboração entre a Diretora da Magdalena Fundação Artística, Jill Greenhalgh, e a cineasta Sara Penrhyn Jones. Usando imagens recolhidas por Sara em dois Festivais Magdalena em 2011 (País de Gales e Cuba), a história tece um teor histórico do projeto, e transmite um pouco do espírito que manteve a rede relevante em um ambiente em mudança.
