Director of Museo Deseo Escena
Born in Mexico City in 1968. After having finished the major in acting in the NET (núcleo de estudios Teatrales), she does a four year residence in Paris, France, with the help of the FONCA grant Apoyo a Estudios en el Extranjero, (1995-1996), where she continues her studies in institutions such as the schools Théatre École du Passage, Le Conservatoire National Supérieure d’Art Dramatique de Paris and L’école Internationale Jacques Lecoq.
Since 1992 she has worked as an actress with divers directors. On the other hand, from 1993 to date she has been a teacher in acting techniques and bodywork for actors in different institutions as well as the approach to the theatrical language for musical students and first approach to theater direction.
In 1997 she starts directing her own plays as well as diverse contemporary authors. Her last directing works are Veronica Musalem’s “La nueva Alejandría” in 2010 and she has worked an actress and co-director in the devised theater work in progress “Exilio: my life as Bolaño” co-produced by Universidad de Guadalajara presented in Guadalajara in February 2011.
In 2006 Lydia Margules creates and heads Muse Deseo Escena, company in which she is the general and artistic director and has directed over ten plays in the last five years.
Lydia Margules has published theatre critique from 1993 to date in diverse media, as much printed as electronic.
In 2005 she started doing Light and set design in her own plays as in plays of different directors as well as special light design for music and dance in different theaters in Mexico City and other cities of Mexico.
