Ira Blazejewska

Ira Blazejewska is a Munich-born artist and curator working in the field of performance / song / sculpture / painting and staged total art spaces and cultural events.

Studied music and painting since early childhood.

After training in music and dance, she studied voice and musicology, while studying performed Chanson / Song programmes, founded a Klezmer band, and had two children.

This was followed by guest appearances (Opera Festival Isny, Opera Bordeaux ", Cartoucherie " Paris ect. ) and a long-term engagement in "Ludwig the Musical" (premiere cast Cosima Wagner) .

She then turned to and strengthened her involvement in independent artistic projects. In addition to performing with different jazz and classical formations, she adopted a a cross-disciplinary approach, combining singing, literature, illustration, and painting.

Since 2003, she has staged exhibitions and worked as a visual artist and performer.

Between 2011-2012 she hosted an art salon where combined her experience to direct and stage “total art spaces”.

Since 2013, under the brand name "Blood , Shit & Champagne" together with her collaborator Karl Detering, she has staged cultural events of a special kind in a variety of projects, again adopting an interdisciplinary approach and initiating a dialogue between artistic past and present.

Curatorial and directorial work

2011 - 2012 Curator and hosted total art space /salon in Munich- Schwabing. Art openings every two weeks, weekly events with performance, reading, music, discussions, special promotions.
