Native New Yorker June Guralnick is the author of 11 full-length plays performed at venues including Kennedy Center, Henry Street Settlement (NYC), Spirit Square (Charlotte, NC), Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre (NC), and North Carolina Museum of Art. Plays include MEMORIES OF CHILDHOOD, CONTAINMENTS (THE HOME PROJECT, Part I), IN GOLD WE TRUST (with Guy Nickson), WOMEN OF THE LIGHT (with Cynthia Mitchell), SPACE INTERLUDE, FINDING CLARA, and most recently, ACROSS THE HOLY TELL. Selections from her plays have been published by North Carolina Literary Review, Playwrights’ Center (Monologues-Heinemann Press), Blackbird Press and Left Curve. Commissions to develop large-scale community cultural projects include DREAMS-OF-FLIGHT involving over 1000 children in North Carolina and Ohio and the HOME PROJECT: PART II, a multi-arts installation about a racially-divided Southern community. Leadership positions include National Endowment for the Arts Theatre Administration Fellows, Executive Director of Theatre Association of Pennsylvania, North Carolina Arts Council (NCAC) Theatre Arts Director, and most recently City of Raleigh Arts Commission Executive Director.
