Translations

When you are logged in to the website, you wlil see a menu directly under the heading of each page or post.

1. 1.Click on this button and you will see a list of the languages of this website, along with information about whether a translation exists or not. There may also be an indication that the translation is outdated - this means that the original has been updated, so the translation should be checked to see if it also needs to be updated. (Often, a translation will have been created in order to have a link and image on the home page, but the content will not have been translated.)
2. 2.Click on "add translation" or "edit", and the edit interface of the page or post will open.

1. 3. Translate the text in the editable fields.
2. 4. Add your name as translator at the end of the Body field.
3. 5. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and, before clicking Save, look at the Authoring Information tab: if you have added a new translation (rather than editing an existing one) your username will appear here. Change it to the same username as the original post.
4. 6. Click the green Save button at the bottom of the screen.
5. 7. Check the page or post, and if you need to correct something, click on the Edit button in the top menu.
6. 8. Lastly, return to the Forum Topic and comment that you have made the translation; you may want to ask another translator to proofread it or for a second opinion about a particular word.
