Red Mole: a Romance

This new documentary film explores the origins, performances, personalities and fate of Red Mole, the legendary theatre group which included Magdalena Aotearoa co-founder Sally Rodwell, mask and puppet virtuouso Deborah Hunt, the poet Alan Brunton and many others from Aotearoa’s alternative arts community of the early 1970s. Produced and directed by Annie Goldson, the film includes archival footage as well as more recent interviews with former group members and is narrated by Ruby Brunton, Sally and Alan’s daughter who was born into the troupe.
