FLOR DE MÁRMOL

FLOR DE MÁRMOL is a love story and a testimony of historical memory about one of the evils that has hit the soul of Colombia the most: the kidnapping and disappearance of people. It tells the story of Flora and Julio. She was a young poetry writer and he was a defender of the environment and human rights. They met in 1997, in Bogotá. For 6 months they lived an intense passion that ended abruptly with the kidnapping and disappearance of Julio. One afternoon they said goodbye after having lunch at a restaurant in the city center and agreed to meet in "three hours." They never saw each other again. Flora refuses to accept that her loved one has disappeared and she searches for him for 10 years throughout Colombia. She doesn't find him. She finally buries her grief on the Beaches of San Bernardo del Viento, a place where they planned to go together and never went. Flora accepts that despite her pain she still has life and she must live it. The work ends with an invitation to celebrate life as the only sacred good we have, with that resilient spirit with which we Colombians try to overcome the losses left by the armed conflict. During the show, the actress reveals the autobiographical motivations that led her to address the issue of forced disappearance in theater.
