Literature and poetry are full of texts on the pleasures of fine dining, the delights of wine, the ambiguity of the art of seduction and its relationship to good food. French expressions and synonyms are legion: we devour, swallow, nibble, gobble, stuff ourselves, munch, eat, have lunch or dinner, taste, sup, peck, gobble up, and feed ourselves with delight. Food lovers are everywhere!

Sitting down to eat has a multitude of connotations in our youthful imaginations. And it is on this blurred boundary – suggested by the nourishing but also sensual pleasures of the palate – that the duo formed by Brigitte Cirla and Sébastien Béranger base their show.

A quasi-radio play performed and transformed in real time in front of an audience

Recettes Immorales is based on the collection of the same name by Manuel Vásquez Montalbán. In his preface, the author states that ‘each of these recipes is a gamble on another possible morality, on a hedonistic morality within the reach of those who seek immediate happiness, consisting of using and even abusing innocent knowledge: knowing how to cook, knowing how to eat, trying to learn to love...’. It is on this joyful premise that the duo formed by Brigitte Cirla and Sébastien Béranger bases its writing work.
